Lazy Koala turned out to be a gem of a hotel. It's not fancy - think more value for money that covers the basics very well and more. It's conveniently located next to the main road and within walking distance of a few restaurants as well. The facilities were great too - the pool, the sunbeds, the rooftop terrace, parking were all great additions. We booked the dorm room and loved the simple room layout, and the bunk beds, power outlets, lighting and storage. The bathrooms were clean and well equipped as well - special note on the excellent water pressure. The staff were super helpful and breakfast was good too. Can recommend!

Loved the hospitality of the facility maintaining staffs and the location. As a solo traveller, explored the bunker option and they were comfortable and budget friendly. The cleanliness of the rest rooms and the overall facility was really well maintained. Will come back again with my family.

The location is awesome, it’s about 1.5km from the Hikka town so the property was very relaxing and quiet, and it’s a short walk to the town. The interior is colorful and chic. Rooms were spacious and had everything we needed. There’s also beanbags laid out inside the rooms and on every floor of the building! The place is great whether you’re coming with a group, as a couple or alone, and for leisure or work. It’s a very calming space. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. No complaints.

The view was really nice, and so was the room. Clean comfortable, the shower was really nice and spacious. Plus really close to the bus stop to go to Colombo.

The staff is so lovely and helpful. The dorms are really clean and comfortable with a nice sea view! you don’t get that everywhere. English breakfast is good. Common areas are well decorated. I really enjoyed my stay and extended for one more night. Thank you for everything!

The bed was very comfortable and sheets etc very clean. Loved the fluffy towels and given additional towel for the swimming pool. The swimming pool was amazing and surprisingly big. You could have a decent swim. The room was very spacious and nicely decorated and very clean. The service was courteous and polite and not intrusive. Even though the hostel looks out over the road it wasn't noisy in the room because of good black-out, sound proofing curtains. Quite ,laidback place which was very tranquil away from the busy part further north of Hikkadua. Loved the rooftop seating area which provided a lovely place to watch the sunset and chill out after we got back in the evening. Place for safe secure parking off the main road.

The property was a beautiful boutique hotel with modern aesthetics. The location is perfect especially the Ocean facing rooms and it is just 2kms away from Hikka beach and the city centre. The owner Mr.Dirk was very warm and welcoming, he even helped us with great recommendations on things to do at Hikkaduwa. Every morning we would look forward to the wonderful breakfast cooked by the chef, the wonderful chats and exciting travel stories of Dirk. The terrace was a magical place for sunset lovers as the panoramic view of the sea is just outstanding! It truly left us speechless. I would highly recommend this property to everyone visiting Hikkaduwa for the love and warm hospitality you will receive here.
